Broodle Griffon - Information on the Dog Breed, Breeders, Puppies and Temperament of Broodle Griffon Dog

The broodle griffon breed of dogs is not a purebred one; it has been created by crossing the Brussels Griffon with the Poodle.

Many people mistake broodle griffon dogs for terriers, because they look alike and are almost the same size, but the two are different in many ways. Broodle griffon dogs are small in size, which makes them easy to carry around. They have a rough and wiry coat, which needs to be trimmed frequently and requires grooming on a regular basis.

Fortunately, these dogs do not shed a lot.

Broodle Griffon Puppies and Temperament

Pet experts usually describe broodle griffon puppies and dogs as “being full of themselves”, as they take themselves very seriously, which can be quite amusing to watch. Broodle griffon dogs are not eager-to-please, as they have a mind of the own. In fact, they can be quite manipulative and demanding if they are not dealt with a firm hand.

The usual broodle griffon temperament is boisterous, happy, comical, curious and spirited. However, they are very sensitive and could get defensive if teased, or treated harshly. This is why broodle griffon dogs are not a good choice for families with small children. They do get along with other pets, but usually display ferocity towards strange dogs. These dogs do not need a lot of outdoor exercise, though they do have adept climbing skills. In spite of their small size and fragility, they make keen watchdogs. One of the biggest problems associated with the broodle griffon dog breed is that the dogs get injured and bruised quite easily.

It is absolutely essential to begin dog training for broodle griffon puppies at an earlier age, or they can become quite obstinate. They also need to be socialized as early as possible, in order to promote a stable temperament and obstinacy. It takes a while for pet owners to train the broodle griffon dog to walk calmly on a leash. At times, even after being trained, they may occasionally fling themselves about or indulge in a bit of acrobatic leaping. Dogs of this breed also experience several housebreaking problems.

Broodle Griffon Breeders

Broodle griffon puppies are not very easy to find and there is usually a high price tag attached to them. Pet owners are strongly advised to consult a breeder who specializes in these dogs, in order to get a healthy puppy. There is a lot of broodle griffon information easily available through various resources. However, it is best for you to speak to professional broodle griffon breeders or preferably a vet to get a clearer idea of any health or behavior concerns that may be associated with this breed.
