Allergic dog diet

Dog Food for Allergies:

Just like us, our pets can also develop food allergies.

However, while it is easier for us to find out what we’re allergic to, for our dogs, this can be very difficult. Therefore, when you are selecting food for your dog, it is important to select the right kind of food that will be both healthy and safe. If you know what your dog is allergic to, it is a great help in selecting particular foods for your dog. While selecting food, keep in mind specific requirements as well as specific allergies.

Generally, rice and lamb is considered to be the healthiest and safe dog foods for dogs that are allergic to certain foods. Still, there are many other dog foods that can be given to your dogs. These dog foods are not only healthy but also safe for your pet.

Canine Allergy Diet:

Take for instance organic food for dogs.

Due to the recent uproar about the low quality dog foods, many companies have started manufacturing organic dog diet that do not contain any chemicals and preservatives. Most usually, it is these harsh chemicals in the dog foods that cause allergies in our dogs. With organic foods, you can rest assured that your dog is getting human grade foods. However, it is possible for your dog to be allergic to some of the organic foods as well. It is not rare to see a dog having an allergic reaction to foods that are considered healthy for it. Therefore, try to keep a tab on the foods that cause allergic reactions.
Like humans, proteins trigger most of the allergic reactions in dogs too. Certain forms of proteins that are found in synthetic or commercial food products, can cause allergies in dogs. Some of the most common triggers of dog allergies are beef, corn, chicken, dairy, and wheat. All of these may contain proteins that cause allergies in dogs. If a dog is allergic to a food item, it will have infections on the skin and ear and will have an itchy skin. The dog will scratch vigorously and patches of hair loss can be seen on the face and hind legs. The bowel movement of the dog will also change. Usually, there is an increase in the bowel movement, and the dog may have loose motions. If you see these symptoms in your dog, immediately withdraw the food you are giving to it.
To make sure that your dog remains allergy free, avoid giving your dog foods that are low in quality and nutrition. If you feed commercial dog foods, always make sure that the foods are high quality and have 40% of meat products, 50% of vegetables and 10% carbohydrates. Try to avoid foods with animal by products and preservatives.
