Dogs love biscuits and will often beg when they see you crunching on one.



But you should not feed it the biscuits that you eat and since commercial biscuits are sometimes too expensive, you can easily try and make some biscuits yourself for your beloved pet using some popular dog biscuit recipes. Homemade dog biscuits are easy to make and might become an instant favorite with your dog. The advantage with baking dog biscuits is that you can make them your way.



You can use ingredients that are easily available and make sure that unlike commercially bought biscuits these homemade ones will not have added preservatives or chemicals. There are a lot of easy simple homemade dog biscuit recipes that are available on the web that you can try out at anytime. When you make the biscuits you can decide what shape you want them and in what quantity.

When you buy them from the store, you have to make do with the number of biscuits in the pack and the varying sizes that they come in. But when you bake them yourself you get to decide the number, the size and even the flavour.

Here is a simple recipe for dog biscuits:

  • In a large mixing bowl mix the following ingredients together. 2 cups of wheat flour, 1 cup of soy milk, ½ cup of vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar 1 cup of vegetable broth, ½ cup of shredded and 1 egg.
  • Mix it all well and roll it out and cut cookie shapes or strips. Bake them for 30 minutes. These can be stored so you can make it in large quantity. Another recipe that you can try is with apples and cranberries. Apples are rich in vitamins and cranberries are good to prevent urinary tract infection. For this you will need, 2 cups of wheat flour, one cup of oats 1 cup of soy milk, ½ cup of apples and ½ cup of cranberries.
  • First mix together the flour and the oats and slowly add the soy milk to this flour mixture. Add the chopped apples and cranberries.
  • Mix the dough so that it becomes firm enough to roll out. Cut it into the desired shapes and bake them for 40 minutes till they are firm. You could look up more recipes for dog biscuits and make sure that you are able to feed healthy dog treats.
