Submitted by Michael Adams on March 12, 2010

In order to arrive at the natural balance cat food the cat owners can try making cat food that includes mixing half a cup of any cooked meat with a single cup of a variety of steamed vegetables. Grains like corn and wheat can either be omitted or added to the meal wherein you can try adding at least half a cup of some grain. This recipe can be a good example of a homemade cat food which is quite easy to make.

Some of main types of grains that are considered to be good for the cats include oats, millet, brown rice, oats, quinoa etc. For those cats that have an allergic reaction to some kinds of grains, then a grain free diet can be regularly followed. Diets that are known to be high in carbohydrates aid in promoting various health issues like diabetes, heart problems, obesity in one’s cat.

Corn is known to have serious effects and cause irritation in a cat’s digestive system.

Also a large number of cats are found to be allergic to corn. In order to arrive at a natural balance cat food the owners can try making homemade cat food that primarily includes combining mixing half a cup of  any type of cooked meat along with a single portion of some of the steamed vegetables. Steamed vegetables can include broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower etc. a lot of cat owners are now moving from canned cat food to organic cat food as it considered to be healthier than store bought food. First step is to buy fresh organic meat which is hormone free and antibiotic. You can also buy some organ meat which is found to be rich in nutrients and vitamins. Dulse and kelp can also be used as they are a great source of trace minerals. Salmon oil is also considered to be a good source of the essential fatty acids. Vitamin E and Vitamin B complex can also be added to the meal. These help in adding to the vitamins and balanced nutrients that make up a good cat food. All the ingredients can be processed in a grinder. Some yolks of the egg can also be added to the meal. Some consider organic cat food to be the best cat food.

It is important to remember to never keep any type of raw food out without being refrigerated. Avoid feeding the cat cooked bones as they tend to splinter up and cause serious damage to the cat’s insides.
